Whites Traffic Management Ltd working on behalf of Moduleco are proud to announce that we played a significant role in the planning, execution, transport and delivery of a Twin Operating Theatre at Guys Hospital in Central London.
Whites Traffic also provided all of the Traffic Management on-site which included road closures and diversions, pedestrian management, parking controls to facilitate the safe access of the multiple modules that when put together makeup the new Operating Theatre.
Kyle White Director for Whites Traffic Management said "What made the delivery of these Oversize Loads particularly challenging is the fact that these 14 extremely large modules were a challenge to fit around tight junctions and narrow London streets with many height and weight restrictions along the route when typically these streets would have been designed for use mainly by Horse and Cart".
There was naturally a lot of planning that went into this logistical operation and it was the great planning that helped us pull through this logistical challenge, from doing an Oversize Loads Route Survey and Swept Path Analysis to ensure any obstructing street furniture could be temporarily removed for these movements to make some of these very tight turns into site within London.
Such early engagement with Southwark Council, local residents, businesses and the wider community drop-in sessions and letter drops was absolutely pivotal to the success of the project and we even received a few letters complimenting how well the works had all been managed and that we had kept them in the loop at all times and managed to finish the works 1 day early and therefore reopened the road sooner than anticipated.
Moduleco were a great company to work with on this project and we worked tirelessly 24/7 over 1 week to see this into fruition and are pleased everything went to plan over this 5 days and nights project to make this Twin Operating theatre installation a real success despite the team battling the high winds and snow, it was all deemed a true success!
