If you’re planning on driving in Buckinghamshire in October, you may want to use extra caution. Recent research completed by Whites Traffic Management revealed that this was statistically the most likely month for road traffic accidents across Buckinghamshire.*
The data also revealed that the most common hour for collisions was between 5-6pm, with the most common day of the week for collisions occurring on Fridays.
The figures, based on over 10 years of the Department for Transport’s road safety statistics**, indicate that drivers are more likely to experience collisions in Buckinghamshire during October, likely due to changing light levels and increased natural hazards like sun glare and wet conditions.
Luke Dempson, Head of Communications at Whites Traffic Management, said:
“Whether you’re doing the school run, meeting up with friends or family, or driving through Buckinghamshire on your commute, we would advise taking extra caution during the month of October.
“Drivers should be fully aware of road hazards at all times, but October poses an increasing number of challenges as we move from brighter summer days to lower light levels and more variable conditions associated with the autumn months.
“Our passion at Whites Traffic Management is to help keep drivers safe on the road at all times of year, as well as the pedestrians and cyclists they share the road with.
